Fiscal Specialist

The Fiscal Specialist positions are located in the following divisions:
Miami Division (1 position) - Weston, FL; Financial Mgmt Division - Fiscal & Admin Support Unit FNPS (2 positions) - Arlington, VA; and Financial Mgmt Division - Travel Services Unit FNTS - Arlington, VA. The incumbent will perform the following duties:
Develop and maintain a tracking system for costs and requirements. Ensure that operating plans are executed within the established resources. Identify trends indicating a deficit in future funds. Make recommendations to program managers for the realignment of funds between accounts to meet revised requirements or support the accomplishment of planned operations. Assist with the preparation of financial information for long-range plans of the office and update the financial plan, as required, based on expenditures, realigned funds, etc. Obtain, compile and summarize factual narrative informative and quantitative data for use by others within the office. Serve as point of contact for activities relating to budgetary requests from budgeting analysis or offices, providing general guidance to other employees and management. Review incoming invoice reimbursable agreements, claims for reimbursement, judgments and settlements, and expenditures. One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade in the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position required. Specialized experience for each grade level is described as follows:
GS-09:
You must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 Federal grade level performing duties such as providing budget rules, regulations, and /or procedures in order to record, report on, process and keep track of budgetary transactions; applying analytical methods and techniques to identify, consider, and resolve a variety of financial and/or auditing related questions and problems OR Have a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or a LL.B., or J.D, if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
